In turbulent times, creativity emerges
Originally from Philadelphia, PA Ruthie is a graduate of Carnegie-Mellon University with a degree in Graphic Design. She began her career after graduation at WQED Pittsburgh, the prolific public broadcasting station where Mister Rogers Neighborhood was created, and was privileged to work directly with Fred on a book development project. At WQED, Ruthie was given a variety of projects in print, on-air promotion and set design.
After moving to New York City, Ruthie worked in publishing, broadcast and film, as an animation director and advertising art director. She has illustrated several books and won industry awards for her out-of-the-box approach to concept, motion and design.
“For a long time, my animation style and personal work has been about collage and a kind of surrealism - juxtaposing the familiar with the unexpected. Recently, I started composing multiples of architectural forms and still images of once-abandoned amusement rides at Coney Island. Then, while caring full-time for my mother, I was inspired by her deep love of flowers, plants and trees.
The Symmetrical Pattern are digitally illustrated from my photographs taken at the two spectacular botanical gardens here in New York, and my happy place, the Brooklyn Promenade. The process of choosing a subject with chaotic movement and then creating symmetrical order has become a kind of mystical experience. When a composition is “right,'' there's a moment of pure happiness.”
Ruthie and her husband, actor/producer Edmund McCarthy live in New York. Their daughter, Maya is an artist and master screenprinter.

Ruthie & Connie: Every Room In The House
Ruthie Rosenfeld is the consummate professional, with whom I have worked digitally for the past 14 years. She is very responsive and attentive, a real team player, and a great graphics designer. Her designs added a very special quality to my film, Ruthie and Connie: Every Room in the House. Working virtually with her has been a seamless endeavor. What more could you ask for?

I have worked with Ruthie on many projects and she is totally fabulous. Her art, creativity, and aesthetic eye are highly evolved - and she is a pleasure to work with (even though i have never met her in person).
She is a rare artist who can work with you in a personal, responsive way in the virtual environment that we all like to - and have to - work in these days.

Ruthie and I worked together at Post Perfect for over a year. My focus was on technology and Ruthie's was on leading the design effort. The singular thing I remember was Ruthie's ability to convey her ideas in a manner that someone (like me) with cold focus only on technology could understand, so as to be able to implement that vision. Hence - I'd say she is an excellent, gentle and patient communicator. Her talent in her field is self evident. As an observer, inexperienced in the arts of design, I liked her work. I regard Ruthie with great respect.
Ruthie and I, since then, have followed our respective careers and I say with certainty that your decision to work with Ruthie will be a positive and fun experience.

When it was time to put the pieces together for the release of my new album "Blue Yonder", I turned to Ruthie Rosenfeld Design for the artwork of my CD package, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Ruthie actualized my ideas for the visuals with patience and expertise. Her precision work transformed the vision into reality, and harmonized both. She's a great person to work with too, and I heartily recommend her services to the creative community, songwriters, musicians and magic makers at large!
